A three-dimensional (3-D) magnetic field problem in an axial flux mach
ine with a toroidal winding is considered. The precise solutions gener
ated by the integral transform and Fourier methods in elementary subre
gions are joined using the iterative Schwartz algorithm. The compariso
n between two-dimensional and 3-D models is performed and a correction
factor taking into account the radial variation of the magnetic flux
is given.
