Sa. Kovalev et Sv. Usatikov, AMPLIFICATION OF THE WALL TEMPERATURE PULSATIONS UNDER TRANSITION POOL BOILING, Journal of enhanced heat transfer (Print), 5(3), 1998, pp. 177-189
The theoretical investigation of the amplification effect of the wall
temperature pulsations by transition boiling is carried out. It is sho
wn for three cases that small temperature pulsations of a hot liquid m
ay be considerable amplified under transition boiling. The analytical
and numerical solutions of problem for distribution of the temperature
pulsations along the rod are obtained. Influences of frequency pulsat
ions and Section length of transition boiling on an amplitude of the p
ulsations are established. If the transition boiling on a wall heated
by hot liquid is unstable then considerable pulsations may be occurred
by cyclical change of boiling regimes. For case of unstable transitio
n boiling the difference in of amplification mechanism of low and high
frequency pulsations is noted. The cases under consideration serve to
illustrate effect of an amplification of the wall temperature pulsati
ons and the methods an estimating of this amplification.
