K. Gotz et Bm. Mayer, PURPOSES AND IMPACT OF PERSONALITY-ORIENTED TRAINING IN ORGANIZATIONS- A STUDY ON MANAGEMENT-TRAINING AT DAIMLER-BENZ, Gruppendynamik, 29(3), 1998, pp. 275-294
In company management training, personality oriented trainings are sta
rting to receive much attention. Personality oriented measures have be
en evaluated sporadically but these evaluations show very different re
sults. First we investigate how ''Personality'' is described theoretic
ally and which initiatives can be taken to reflect on personality comp
onents and to change some factors. In the second empirical part person
ality training for managers based at Daimler-Benz in Stuttgart is eval
uated. The methodological procedure consisted of a simple time series
design with four points of measurement. Data were collected in qualita
tive interviews. The evaluation shows that all participants were able
to cope with conflicts and stress situations with increased reflection
. In some cases better communication behaviour could be shown in the p
artial study which took place a year after the seminar and this had a
positive effect on the work climate and the results of work.
