The temperature dependence of the fluorescence lifetimes and decomposi
tion quantum yields of azo compounds, 2,3-diazabicyclo[2.2.2.]oct-2-en
e and pyrazoline derivatives, are analyzed in terms of a dual temperat
ure dependence due to solvent-induced quenching and deazatization. The
applicability of different equations for the determination of the act
ivation parameters for the two independent process is discussed.
