Abstract
The reaction of [Ru-3(CO)(12)] with dicyclohexylphosphine (Cy2PH) in r efluxing toluene leads to the metal clusters [Ru-3(CO)(7)(mu-H)(mu-PCY 2)(3)] (1) and [Ru-3(CO)(6)(mu-H)(mu-PCy2)(3)(Cy2PH)] (2). Complexes 1 and 2 react with carbon monoxide under elevated pressure to give the novel 52-electron cluster [Ru-3(CO)(9)(mu-H)(mu-PCy2)(3)] (3), which c ould be isolated as a solid and characterized spectroscopically. The m olecular structure of 1 has been determined by means of a single-cryst al X-ray structure analysis. O 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
