In this article we report about a new type of closed-cycle cryocooler
operating by use of the Bernoulli effect. After a description of the c
onstruction and the operating principle we present the basics of therm
odynamic analysis for this cryocooler. Finally we present a calculatio
n of a layout suggestion for a low power Bernoulli effect cryocooler c
omparing its performance parameters for operation with helium and neon
