Abstract
A miniature magnetoresistance probe, made of pure copper wire, has bee n developed for mapping magnetic fields. The probe has been used to ma p field profiles up to 15 T, with a resolution in field Delta B of bet ter than 2 x 10(-4) T at 15 T. The small size of the probe, 1 mm diam. x 2.5 mm length, makes it useful for measuring field homogeneity and field profile. While the present measurements were made from 2 to 4.2 K, the probe may be used down to 1 mK. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
