Productivity from Scanlon-Type Plans

In an examination of the Scanlon Plan and the factors which determine the probability of success, the economic motivation is seen as being of major importance. The assumption of psychologists that most workers desire participation in decision making, and thus self-actualization, and that this produces the productivity improvement, is criticized.
