Abstract
Confusion about concepts and terminology can be reduced by classifying types of entrepreneurs and their ventures. Three new concepts are introduced which relate to the independent entrepreneurial venture: (a) the Four-P Index (perceived payoff per principal), (b) the Life-Cycle of the Independent Entrepreneurial Venture, and (c) the "Succession of Firms" Concept.
