Abstract
The venture team is an attempt to avoid bureaucratic obstacles to new product innovation. A study of 21 venture team failures revealed that concerns with financial costs, marketing problems, and personnel or organizational factors were among the major causes for failures. Indepth field interviews revealed many of the underlying operational reasons for the venture failures.
