Worker Participation in the Progressive Era: An Assessment by Harrington Emerson

Although neglected in the literature, worker participation was a major industrial issue during the progressive era. This era coincided with the height of scientific management and its subsequent criticism. Documents recently discovered by the author reveal the assessment of and thoughts of worker participation by one of the pioneers of scientific management-Harrington Emerson.
