We study the consequences of the application of an electric field on t
he non-linear transparency effects given by the light-induced creation
of an isotropic droplet in a twisted nematic liquid crystal cell boun
ded by two dichroic polarizers. The possibility of voltage control is
shown. A simple mathematical model is presented for the description of
the phenomenon. Experimental results are presented and discussed by c
omparison with theoretical predictions.
