Abstract
Many points of contact between statistics and the philosophy of science are reviewed. Some of the topics mentioned are kinds of probability, weight of evidence (corroboration), tail probabilities ( p -values), Bayes/non-Bayes compromises, "explicativity," induction and probabilistic causality.
