G. Yang et al., SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF NOVEL AROMATIC HYPERBRANCHED POLYAMIDE PREPARED BY DIRECT POLYCONDENSATION, Proceedings of the Japan Academy. Series B Physical and biological sciences, 74(8), 1998, pp. 188-191
An aromatic hyperbranched polyamide was synthesized by the direct poly
condensation of an AB(2) type monomer (3,5-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzoic
acid) in NMP in the presence of triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as co
ndensing agents. Structure of the monomer and the resulting polymer wa
s identified by IR, H-1-NMR, and C-13-NMR measurements. The polymer wa
s soluble in DMF, DMAc, NMP, DMSO, m-cresol and 2-methoxyethanol. Degr
ee of branching of the polymer was determined as 48% by the integratio
n ratio in the C-13- NMR spectrum. The glass transition temperature (T
-g) was observed at 200 degrees C in DSC measurement. The onset temper
ature (T-0) and the temperature of 10% weight loss (T-10) were determi
ned as 310 degrees C and 530 degrees C, respectively, in TGA measureme
nt.
