Sb. Lee et Tj. Yoon, DETERMINATION OF PERCOLATION THRESHOLDS FOR THE CORRELATED CONTINUUM PERCOLATION MODEL, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 33(5), 1998, pp. 612-616
We measure the percolation thresholds for continuum percolation consis
ting of the equi-sized particles of the penetrable-concentric-shell (P
CS) model. The PCS model consists of the totally impenetrable particle
s of diameter lambda sigma encompassed by fully penetrable shells of t
hickness sigma(1-lambda)/2, where lambda = 0 corresponds to the penetr
able sphere model and lambda = 1 yields the hard sphere model. We conf
irm the universality of such a model and estimate, by Monte Carlo reno
rmalization calculations the percolation thresholds for various values
of the impenetrability parameter lambda. Accurate estimates indicate
that the percolation transition occurs at the lowest density for lambd
a between 0.6 and 0.7.
