Abstract
The DSR(R) (Dynamic Shaperoll) is a thickness, flatness and profile ac tuator constituted by a metallic sleeve rotating freely around a stati onary beam, the sleeve being forced against the work roll by several p ads independently controlled. It has been used with success in alumini um rolling, Baosteel has decided to revamp its 5-stand tandem cold mil l by putting a DSR on the last stand, It is the first application on s teel, The first operating results are presented in this paper.
