ISOBARIC VAPOR-LIQUID-EQUILIBRIUM IN THE SYSTEMS 2-METHYLPENTANE PLUSMETHYL 1,1-DIMETHYLETHYL ETHER, PLUS ETHYL 1,1-DIMETHYLETHYL ETHER, AND PLUS METHYL 1,1-DIMETHYLPROPYL ETHER

Vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the binary systems 2-methylpentane methyl 1,1-dimethylethyl ether (MTBE), + ethyl 1,1-dimethylethyl ethe
r (ETBE), and + methyl 1,1-dimethylpropyl ether (TAME) are reported at
101.3 kPa, including pure component vapor pressures. The measured sys
tems, which deviate slightly from ideal behavior, can be described as
symmetric regular solutions, and only the system 2-methylpentane + MTB
E presents an azeotrope. Boiling points are correlated with the Wisnia
k-Tamir equation.
