Th. Deng et al., SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN TERNARY PROPANOL PLUS BUTANOL PLUS 2,2,4-TRIMETHYLPENTANE SOLVENT MIXTURES, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 43(6), 1998, pp. 1065-1067
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in ter
nary 1-propanol + 1-butanol + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, 1-propanol + 2-b
utanol + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, 2-propanol + 1-butanol + 2,2,4-trimet
hylpentane, and 2-propanol + 2-butanol + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane solven
t mixtures at 25 degrees C. Nineteen compositions were studied for eac
h of the four solvent systems. Results of these measurements are used
to test the predictive ability of the ternary solvent form of the comb
ined NIMS/Redlich-Kister equation. Computations showed that the model
predicted the observed solubility behavior to within an overall averag
e absolute deviation of about 0.9%.
