In this paper a boundary-element formulation for analysis of crack gro
wth in homogeneous orthotropic laminates is presented. The crack growt
h process is modelled by an incremental crack extension in a direction
determined by the maximum circumferential stress criterion. The appli
cation of the method is demonstrated by solving several edge-crack con
figurations. The influence of the orthotropic material properties on t
