Abstract
A literature review was conducted of 16 research articles examining th e relationship between implementation of a model of care utilizing unl icensed assistive personnel (UAP) and patient satisfaction. In nine of the articles, the implementation of the UAP model was found to increa se patient satisfaction. In seven articles, the implementation of the UAP model was found to have no effect on patient satisfaction. In addi tion, two research articles also were reviewed that related patient sa tisfaction to continuity of care and aspects of caring behaviors. Disc ussion of these articles included research problems, methodology, find ings, and conclusions.
