Am. Siehoff, IMPACT OF UNLICENSED ASSISTIVE PERSONNEL ON PATIENT SATISFACTION - ANINTEGRATIVE REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, Journal of nursing care quality, 13(2), 1998, pp. 1-10
A literature review was conducted of 16 research articles examining th
e relationship between implementation of a model of care utilizing unl
icensed assistive personnel (UAP) and patient satisfaction. In nine of
the articles, the implementation of the UAP model was found to increa
se patient satisfaction. In seven articles, the implementation of the
UAP model was found to have no effect on patient satisfaction. In addi
tion, two research articles also were reviewed that related patient sa
tisfaction to continuity of care and aspects of caring behaviors. Disc
ussion of these articles included research problems, methodology, find
ings, and conclusions.
