Abstract
The trace anomaly for nonminimally coupled scalars in spherically redu ced gravity obtained by Bousso and Hawking is incorrect. We explain th e reasons for the deviations from our correct (published) result which is supported by several other recent papers. [S0556-2821(98)03622-4].
