In this work the composting of sweet sorghum bagasse - the residue obt
ained after sugar juice extraction of sweet sorghum stalk - in mixture
s of wastes was studied. Bagasse with pig slurry and sewage sludge wer
e used as raw materials for composting. The process was carried out in
turned piles and the main process parameters were monitored over a ye
ar. The analysis of the composts obtained showed the products were ade
quate for use as soil amendments in agriculture, fulfilling EU recomme
