Abstract
The midsagittal area of the corpus callosum expressed as the percentag e of the hemispheric surface is smaller in the NZB/BINJ than in the C5 7BL/6By inbred strain of mice. We performed a QTL mapping analysis usi ng 284 F(2)s. Two loci linked to this measure were found: the CCrSQTL( 1) and CCrSeTL2 at 87 and 67 centiMorgans from the centromere on chrom osomes 1 and 4 respectively. The two loci interacted significantly. Th e total source of genetic variation contributed to 25% of the observed variance; (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
