Abstract
Hypervalent iodine oxidation of 3-carboxamide-2-oxo / 2-amino pyridine s 1 and 3 by phenyliodine(III) bis(trifluoroacetate) (PIFA) in DMF/H2O results in a novel synthesis of isoxazolo and pyrazolo pyridines 2 an d 4 respectively in 65-80 percent yield.
