A determination of the eigenvalues for a three-dimensional system is m
ade by expanding the potential function V(x, y, z; Z(2), lambda, beta)
= -Z(2) [x(2) + y(2) + z(2)] + lambda {x(4) + y(4) + z(4) + 2 beta [x
(2)y(2) + x(2)z(2) + y(2)z(2)]}, around its minimum. In this paper the
results of extensive numerical calculations using this expansion and
the Hill-determinant approach are reported for a large class of potent
ial functions and for various values of the perturbation parameters Z(
2), lambda, and beta. PACS No.:03.65.
