Abstract
In this paper a mathematical model describing the main kinetics activa ted during the degradation processes of organic matter added to soil i s proposed. The model analyses the evolution, with time, of the biomas s, total nitrogen, inorganic nitrogen, carbon and humus, describing th eir interrelations. Some results have been compared to the experimenta l data of a degradation process, in cultivated soil, of water-soluble waste from olive processing. The model has been used to simulate kinet ics resulting from perturbations caused by different CIN ratios. (C) 1 998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
