Abstract
In the publication by Hu and Mei [Phys. Fluids 10, 1028 (1998)] a corr ection to the collision formula is described for like particles within a given size category. Here we show that the formula derived by Sunda ram and Collins (1997) is already consistent with Hu and Mei (1998) an d so their correction does not apply. (C) 1998 American Institute of P hysics.
