E. Backhoffescudero et al., THURSTONES TEST OF PRIMARY MENTAL ABILITIES - MEXICAN UNIVERSITY-STUDENTS NORMS, Revista mexicana de psicologia, 15(1), 1998, pp. 1-9
To evaluate factors associated to intelligence and mental abilities of
individuals, the Primary Mental Abilities Test (Thurstone and Thursto
ne, 1947) has been used worldwide. The Spanish version of this test is
used in Mexico with non-Mexican norms. To establish the statistical n
orms of this population, the performance of 9'403 Mexican college stud
ents on the Rye scales of this Test were studied, retrospectively. Dur
ing the period 1986-1990, as part of the admission process to the Univ
ersity of Baja California, all students answered the Thurstone's test.
Mexican and non-Mexican norms were compared, and gender results are p
resented.
