Abstract
The National Health Service Cervical Screening Programme (NHSCSP) rece ntly published their document Standards and Quality in Colposcopy outl ining recommendations for standards in the service provided by colposc opists. In this first audit of colposcopic practice measured against t hese agreed UK national guidelines, the authors discuss the standards, their attainability, and their relevance to genitourinary medicine (G UM) colposcopy services.
