Mononuclear zinc(II), homodinuclear zinc(II) and heterodinuclear zinc(
II)-copper(II) complexes derived from tris[(2-pyridyl)methyl]amine (L)
have been prepared and characterised. The crystal structures of two m
ononuclear complexes, [ZnL(Cl)][BPh4]. MeCN and [ZnL(O2CPh)][BPh4] sho
w that the co-ordination geometries around the zinc lose to trigonal b
ipyramidal and that of the heterodinuclear complex [ZnCuL2(p-O2NC6H4OP
O3]-[BPh4](2) . H2O are 5.86 Angstrom and bridged by a phosphate monoe
ster.
