Abstract
This study, concerning the optical properties of ceramic materials, co nsisted of the development of a theoretical model based on the Maheu t heory. The use of this model for the case of aluminium oxide required the determination of various parameters which are discussed. The theor etical results are compared with experimental data obtained by laser s pectrophotometry. This work focuses on the fact that the model can be applied to other ceramic materials similar to aluminium oxide.
