Abstract
Numerical simulations are reported on a figure-eight laser geometry th at includes propagation in the amplifier; the model includes periodic amplification and loss leading to sideband generation. A maximum ampli fication is observed beyond which no stable pulses are found. we find that the pulse stability is also dependent on the amplifier's length.
