Phytochemical investigation of Taxus canadensis leads to the identific
ation of four new esters, namely 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propyl pentacosano
ate 1, 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propyl hexacosanoate 2, 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)p
ropyl dotriacontanoate 3 and 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propyl tetratriacontan
oate 4 along with one known ester, 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propyl tetracosa
noate 5. Six additional compounds, sciadopitysin 6, ginkgetin 7, rhodo
dendrin 8, taxicatin 9, taxinine 10 and beta-sitosterol have also been
isolated and identified.
