THE EDWARDS PERSONAL PREFERENCE SCHEDULE - A CONSTRUCTION PRINCIPLE AND APPLICATIONS

This article introduce Russian readers to the Edwards Personal Prefere nce Schedule (EPPS), one of the most used personality assessment inven tories. Theoretical grounds underlying scales of the Schedule and a pr inciple of its construction are presented. A review of Western studies (1959-1997) applying the EPPS in various vocational and ethno-cultura l groups as well as in populations differing in psychiatric and psycho social status is made. The first results of the EPPS application on Ru ssian samples are briefly described.
