Bi. Volkov et Vm. Temryukh, VAK-2 EDDY-CURRENT DEVICE FOR EVALUATING THE DEGREE OF DAMAGE OF THE METAL OF PIPES OF STEAM SUPERHEATERS OF THERMAL ELECTRIC-POWER STATIONS BY INTERCRYSTALLINE CORROSION, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 34(3), 1998, pp. 178-182
The authors examine the relationships of the parameters of an attached
eddy current parametric transducer with the presence and the degree o
f damage of pipes in the heated surface of thermal power stations made
of austenitic steel by intercrystalline corrosion on the side of the
external (gas) surface. It is shown that it is principally possible to
evaluate the thickness of the damaged layer by the eddy current metho
d. The technical characteristics of the developed VAK-2 specialized de
vice and experience with application of the device under the condition
s of thermal electric power stations are described.
