Abstract
Energy-dependent Schrodinger hierarchies of KdV type provide examples of systems with the weak Painleve property. We propose reciprocal tran sformations such that the transformed systems satisfy the standard (st rong) Painleve test of Weiss, Tabor and Carnevale (WTC). The reciproca l transformations are used to derive some exact solutions. (C) 1998 Pu blished by Elsevier Science B.V.
