Abstract
The monolayer structure of N-2 molecules adsorbed upon a highly homoge neous MgO powder surface has been studied by means of neutron diffract ion techniques within the 10-60 K temperature range. At T=10 K the sub monolayer undergoes a series of semi-commensurate structures p(2 x n) followed by a highly ordered commensurate structure (root 13 x root 13 )-rot.33.7 degrees observed at the monolayer completion.
