Abstract
The hidden crossings of rotational energy levels of a H2O molecule emb edded in an electric field are studied. It is found that non-adiabatic transitions associated with the hidden crossings become significant i f the product F(0)omega greater than or equal to 10(-8), where F-0 is the amplitude of the periodic field and omega is its frequency (both i n atomic units).
