The amino acid compositions of whole body tissue of European seabass,
gilthead seabream and turbot of two different size classes were determ
ined. No significant differences were detected between species and the
composition was not affected by body size. Based on whole body indisp
ensable amino acids (IAA) to total IAA ratios (A/E ratios), the IAA re
quirement profiles for the three species were estimated and compared t
o data available to date for some amino acids, obtained using dose-res
ponse curves. (C) Ifremer/Elsevier, Paris.
