A study comparing the magnitudes of the second-order nonadditive induc
tion energy and the nonadditive triple-dipole dispersion energy for in
teractions in trimers containing the linear homonuclear molecules Hz,
N-2, and O-2 has been undertaken. The configurations are a linear, sym
metric and an equilateral triangle arrangement of the trimers: H-2-H-2
-H-2, N-2-N-2-N-2, O-2-O-2-O-2, N-2-N-2-O-2, and O-2-N-2-H-2. The obse
rved trends are discussed.
