T. Kimura et al., SYNTHESIS FROM ALIPHATIC DIAMINES OF POLYAMIDES CONTAINING A FIRE-MEMBERED LACTONE UNIT IN MAIN-CHAIN AND THEIR PROPERTIES, Kobunshi ronbunshu, 55(11), 1998, pp. 677-684
Polycondensations of myl-2-chloroformylmethyl-2,4-dimethyl-4-butanolid
e with 1, n-alkanediamines (n = 2 similar to 6) and p-xylyrenediamine
resulted in aliphatic polyamides with partial cleavage of the lactone
moiety, except 1,2-ethanediamine. The polycondensation of acid dichlor
ide with piperadine gave a polyamide without cleavage of the lactone m
oiety, in analogy with phenylenediamines. All of the resulting polyami
des possessed initiation temperatures for thermal decomposition above
300 degrees C. The percentage of water content and glass transition te
mperature of the corresponding polyamides increased with decrease in t
he carbon number of alkanediamines.
