The synthesis of some heterocyclic, compactly condensed compounds, inc luding the indigo and thioindigo structures, as well as their applicat ion in the synthesis of stoic dyes, in order to obtain some dyestuffs having mixed indigo-azoic chromophore, has not yet been tackled This p aper intends to do it, in order to get some high performance compounds both from the colouring and tinctorial point of view. This will also allow the analysis of the influence the two chromophore types have upo n the colour.
