G. Groppi et al., CATALYTIC COMBUSTION OF GASIFIED BIOMASSES OVER MN-SUBSTITUTED HEXAALUMINATES FOR GAS-TURBINE APPLICATIONS, Catalysis today, 45(1-4), 1998, pp. 159-165
The catalytic combustion of gasified biomasses over Mn-substituted hex
aaluminates with high thermal stability is addressed. Combustion activ
ity tests of the main fuel components, i.e. CO, H-2, C2H4 and CH4, hav
e been performed, and the effects of H2O and CO2 on the fuel combustio
n have been investigated. The reactivity of NH3 in the catalytic combu
stion has also been studied in view of its potential source of undesir
ed fuel-NOx. Lab-scale data have been preliminarily scaled up through
mathematical modeling. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reser
