Abstract
2D numerical calculations of the near-field scattered intensity for su rfaces constituted by several metallic interacting nanoparticles on fl at substrates, either conducting or dielectric, are presented. In part icular, we focus our study on the simplest case and consider the prese nce of only two particles. The near-field intensity distribution is th en calculated for various geometrical situations (different interparti cle separations and relative positions). The influences of the angle o f incidence and polarization of the exciting light are also analysed. The generation of surface waves and the presence of zones with high in tensity values is revealed.
