Abstract
ZnCl2/NaY samples prepared by solid-state interaction between ZnCl2 an d NaY zeolite under microwave irradiation are characterized by XRD and IR. It is shown that ZnCl2 is completely dispersed onto the surface o f NaY at loadings up to 37.5 wt.%. Two types of bond state of ZnCl2 wi th NaY exist: (1) part of the dispersed ZnCl2 undergoes solid-state io n exchange with Na+ in the NaY zeolite, and (2) the rest of the disper sed ZnCl2 coordinates with oxygen from the NaY zeolite lattice.
