Abstract
The photodissociation dynamics of formic acid at 193 nm has been inves tigated by measuring laser induced fluorescence spectra of OH fragment s. From the spectra, fraction of the available energy distributed amon g the products has been found to be, f(r)(OH) = 0.05, f(t) = 0.82, f(i nt)(CHO) = 0.13, with a negligible fraction of OH being in excited vib rational states. Together with the measured vector correlations, the d etailed dynamics of the dissociation process has been discussed. (C) 1 998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
