Abstract
A method for the synthesis of optimal thermal systems by sequential co mbinatorial trial of two thermodynamic euristic criteria has been deve loped, offering a rapid procedure that ensures the obtaining of soluti ons close to the exact one. Using this method, it is possible to synth esize systems having variable heat transfer coefficients and those bas ed on the standard heat exchangers chosen from a manufacturer catalog.
