Abstract
Aerobic oxidative coupling: of naphthols catalyzed by a copper-amine c omplex was found to proceed without solvent in high efficacy The prese nt reaction was applied to a practical synthesis of 1,1'-binaphthalene -2,2'-diol on multi-gram scale.
