Abstract
The rescue and revitalization of Cleveland provides a benchmarking opp ortunity for how business leaders can help meet the challenge of renew ing our cities. This article addresses four questions: What is the rol e of business leaders in urban revitalization? How can business leader s organize themselves effectively for collective action? What are the key considerations in formulating a community development strategy? Ho w can such a strategy be best implemented? These questions are examine d by focusing on the experience of the business CEO organization ''Cle veland Tomorrow,'' which has played a major role for over two decades in the rebirth of Cleveland.
