Abstract
The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China is on the verge of a predicted HIV explosion. After reviewing the transmission environme nt in the region, the authors present the findings from their survey o f 103 drug abusers undergoing detoxification treatment in Nanning, the capitol of Guangxi, and suggest broad policy changes in light of the analysis.
